Nina Arroyo Santiago, LICSW

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I still go every year to visit family and friends. I grew up doing musical theater (even though I’m not a very good singer). That passion led me to New York University, where I studied Acting, Cinema Studies, and Producing, graduating in 2017. After graduating and moving to Washington, DC, I pursued Master of Social Work (MSW) at Howard University (HU! You know!), where I graduated in 2022. After graduating, I worked as a middle and high school therapist for two years and later on went to work as a medical case manager for parenting teens in a pediatric medical clinic.

I have struggled with depression, anxiety, and symptoms of trauma and have been in therapy growing up. I know how hard it is to make the first step and commit to therapy so I am here to help you make that as smooth and easy as possible! Some coping skills I have learned and that have worked for me are journaling, baking, breathing techniques (like box breathing), and grounding exercises (like the 54321 senses exercise). Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy baking and cooking (especially trying new recipes I find on TikTok or Instagram), reading, watching TV (currently rewatching Gilmore Girls for the 100th time), listening to true crime podcasts (my favorite is Crime Junkie), spending time with friends and family, and hanging out with my dog, Bailey.

Book a 15-minute consult to talk and see if this would be a good fit for you.
